Day 1
Welcome to Perth

On arrival at Perth Airport you’ll be transferred to your hotel by private car. This afternoon meet your Travel Director and set off on a city tour of Perth including a visit to Kings Park. Tonight, get to know your fellow travellers over a delicious meal.

Day 2
Perth – Geraldton

Travel along the West Australian coastline to the port of Geraldton. Heading north to Yanchep National Park, you’ll enjoy a fantastic Aboriginal cultural experience in a bush setting. Aboriginal Cultural Icon Meet your Aboriginal guide who’ll share with you their way of life and will treat you to the enchanting sounds of the didgeridoo. Continue along the coast to the seaside hamlet of Lancelin and then to Nambung National Park, home of the marvellous Pinnacles, a series of intriguing limestone formations. On arrival in Geraldton you’ll visit the evocative HMAS Sydney Memorial.

Day 3 - 4
Geraldton – Monkey Mia

Day 3: Geraldton – Monkey Mia

Travel to Hamelin Pool to see the world’s best known colony of Stromatolites. Later visit fascinating Shell Beach, one of only two in the world, formed from billions of coquina bivalve shells up to ten metres deep. Continue to the crystal blue waters and the pristine white shell and sandy beaches of Monkey Mia.

Day 4: Monkey Mia

After a leisurely breakfast overlooking the calm waters of the bay, watch the famous dolphins swim into shore (Note: As dolphins are wild their appearance cannot be guaranteed.) Included Choice Icon Today, choose from two Included Choice sightseeing experiences. You may like to join a Daytime Dreaming bush walking tour or unwind and watch the world go by on a magical sunset cruise.

Today you’ll make the journey north to Carnarvon. On arrival visit the Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum with plenty of time to explore.

Carnarvon – Exmouth – 'Free Time'

Day 6: Carnarvon – Exmouth

Today you journey to the spectacular waters of the West Coast to North West Cape. Exmouth is situated on the boundary of Cape Range National Park and the Ningaloo Marine Park and was built to house the families of US Navy personnel working at Naval Communication Station Harold E. Holt. Head to Coral Bay, where we will hop onto a glass bottom boat, and cruise over World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef. On the coral cruise you’ll see wonderful fish and bright unspoiled corals without having to get in the water. It’s a fantastic experience! When you arrive into Exmouth, you’ll visit Vlaming Head Lighthouse for stunning views over Lighthouse Bay and enjoy a tour of the township with your Travel Director. Tonight stay just metres from the water, overlooking Exmouth Gulf.

Day 7: Exmouth 'Free Time

After a leisurely breakfast, today is yours to do as you choose. Why not marvel at the size, grace and beauty of the Whale Shark as you swim alongside them in the pristine waters of the Ningaloo Marine Park, alternatively you could take a stroll along the beach, or relax by the hotel pool overlooking the water.

Day 8
Exmouth – Karratha

Before departing, take one last look over Lighthouse Bay and the Vlaming Head Lighthouse, then continue north to Western Australia’s famous Pilbara region. Known for its rich cultural landscape, red earth and vast mineral deposits, the region’s diverse landscape will fascinate you. Tonight enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Karratha – Karijini

Enjoy a guided tour of Rio Tinto’s Open Cut Iron Ore Mine site. You will be amazed by the massive pit and see the huge machinery and trucks in action as you’re lead to the heart of the operation. Journey into the depths of the Pilbara to Karijini National Park, famous for the natural beauty of its deep gorges, secluded emerald rock pools and ice blue waterfalls. Your stay tonight is in safari-style eco tents.

Day 10
Karijini National Park – Port Hedland

This morning you’ll explore more of Karijini. The startling landscape of spectacular gorges, waterfalls and rock pools provides a striking contrast to the stark red landscape of the Pilbara. Port Hedland is a hub for major resource activity and is a powerhouse of the Australian economy. Its natural deep anchorage harbour sees the export of iron ore, salt, manganese, livestock and natural gas from the nearby off-shore gas fields.

Day 11-12
Port Hedland – Broome – 'Free Time'

Day 11: Port Hedland – Broome

Skirting the edge of the Great Sandy Desert, you’ll travel across vast pastoral leases and Aboriginal homelands through Pardoo, towards the tropical resort town of Broome on the Indian Ocean. Tonight, join your fellow travellers for dinner overlooking Cable Beach.

Day 12: Broome 'Free Time'

Today you have a full day to explore this tropical hideaway. At some stage you may enjoy a leisurely stroll along the 22 kilometres of pristine sand and swim in the turquoise water that is Cable Beach. Wander through Chinatown or shop for pearls. Tonight, sit back and relax with a drink to watch the spectacular sunset over Cable Beach.

Day 13
Broome – Fitzroy Crossing

After a Broome city sights tour, travel to Geike Gorge for a relaxing cruise and to take in the magnificent colours and structure of the gorge’s stone walls. Watch for freshwater crocodiles, fruit bats and wallabies as the 30 metre high walls of the gorge tower above you. Continue to Fitzroy Crossing.

Fitzroy Crossing – Halls Creek

Aboriginal Cultural Icon Before leaving Fitzroy Crossing stop in at the Yiyili Indigenous community to visit Laari Gallery. You’ll get the chance to meet some of the family at the community’s art gallery. Continue to Halls Creek, a town rich in history and culture.

Day 15-16
Halls Creek – Emma Gorge – El Questro Wilderness Park

Day 15: Halls Creek – Emma Gorge

Today visit the Argyle Diamond Mine, the world’s largest supplier of natural coloured diamonds. A local Indigenous guide will join you for an extensive behind the scenes look at the diamond mining process and teach you about the cultural significance of the mine site before you sit down to a buffet lunch in the mine’s staff village. Next, travel to Parry Lagoons Nature Reserve (weather permitting) to see the bird life of this region. Continue to El Questro Wilderness Park for your stay at Emma Gorge Resort. Staying in safari style tented cabins, you really feel like you’re immersed in nature.

Day 16: El Questro Wilderness Park

This morning rise to the calls of native birds and head to the resort’s large verandah for a hearty breakfast with views of the surrounding ranges. Next up you’ll travel across the Pentecost River for a cruise on Chamberlain Gorge, a fresh waterhole fringed by tropical vegetation and 60 metre tall escarpments. This afternoon is free for you to relax and enjoy your surrounds. This evening after dinner, sit back with a drink and enjoy local entertainment.

Day 17-18
Emma Gorge – Kununurra

Day 17: Emma Gorge – Kununurra

This morning head to Kununurra, the ‘food bowl’ of Western Australia. First up visit Hoochery Distillery, makers of Ord River Rum, the only rum made in Western Australia. Then, enjoy a visit to the historic Durack Homestead Museum. Later, cruise along the Ord River from Lake Argyle back to Kununurra and discover the abundance of birdlife these permanent waters have brought to the region. Experience a magical sunset on the water before you arrive in Kununurra.

Day 18: Kununurra

On your tour of the town today you’ll visit Mirima National Park, which is home to a big variety of wildlife including many species of birds, all manner of reptiles, wallabies, bats, dingoes and echidna. Afterwards you’ll have time to view the town from Kelly’s Knob Lookout before a free afternoon. Be My Guest Dining Icon This evening, join your fellow travellers at a privately hosted Be My Guest dinner at the Kununurra Sandalwood Factory in the heartland of Kununurra’s Sandalwood plantations.

On arrival in Darwin, enjoy a city sights tour before joining your Travel Director for a farewell dinner overlooking the waterfront.
